WiFi service is available at all sites at Oregon Dunes KOA. We know how important being connected to the internet is for many of our guests. We have just upgraded our equipment - the March 13, 2012 snowstorm toasted our external equipment. That was the bad news. The good news is we will have brand new equipment by the end of May (sooner we hope). We would like to take a moment to comment on our WiFi service here at Oregon Dunes KOA.
Our fees include one wifi coupon per site at no charge. This code will work on only ONE device. (If you log off one device and try to use another, the code will not work for the second device). If you need to use more than one computer/device, you can purchase additional codes for $10 per device. Your coupon is good for 7 days. If your stay is longer than 7 days, we will provide you with another free code when the first one is expired.
We do not have access to high speed cable or DSL service here at Oregon Dunes KOA. 16 years ago we only had dial up available at the park. After about 3 years, we upgraded to a satellite internet solution. This worked well for a number of years but as we became busier, the problems mounted. About 3 years ago we again upgraded to a T-1 line for our data service. This solved many problems but for those of you who understand wireless technology, you know it is still not the perfect solution. We need our guests to understand that you will not get the same high speed access that you have at your home. Our network is designed to let you receive your email, surf the internet, and do your homework online. IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO ALLOW YOU TO GAME ONLINE, DOWNLOAD MOVIES, OR DO ANY ACTIVITY THAT USES EXCESSIVE BANDWIDTH. If the weather is bad, be sure you bring movies from home or check out our 700+ movie DVD movies that are available to rent from our store $3/night.
