Joel stopped in at our office one afternoon in 2001 and he has been a part of our campground since then. I hired him that same day and he has spent all or part of his summers with us until 2008. 2009 was the first summer we didn't get to see him. He is now a doctor and off in his new life. We miss our 'pseudo son' everyday. We enjoyed watching him grow up into a great young man and are as proud of him as we can be. He also brought a whole group of great young people into our lives and you can see what some of them are now doing below. They have all become a permanent part of Team ODKOA and we consider all of them our 'pseudo kids'. We miss them all. We don't get to see them much any more but as I get updates, I will keep this page updated. Joel become a doctor in August 2010: Doctor of Psychology: Clinical Psychology. "I work mainly with children, adolescents, and college students, but also work with families and the occassional adult or couple. I do therapy, assessments for all kinds of things (e.g., learning disabilities, psychological/emotional problems, developmental disabilities, etc.), education/teaching, consultation, etc. I am currently finishing my internship with the Children's Home Society of Idaho and loving it!" We will be glad when he gets back to Oregon. |

Stacey started in 2002 and we still get to see her when she stops in to say hi. Here is a note from Stacey. I still think about my summers at KOA and miss the people I met along the way. There are definitely days when I wish I was back at the campground talking with campers and working with some great people. |

Jessica was also with us for many summers and she did a lot of work on our website the last year she was with us. Thanks to her and our daughter-in-law, Shannon, our website just required tweaking and not a total rebuild! Jessica lives in Portland, Oregon and works for North Shore Productions, a documentary video production company, as the Staff Producer. You can hear her voice, along with Glenn Close, as a historical character in the PBS documentary "Gates of the Arctic: Alaska's Brooks Range". And if you're down in San Francisco, you can check out her work at the Steinhart Aquarium video kiosks. Jessica keeps active playing pick-up basketball and on soccer leagues. |

Just received an update about Lindsey.Linds works for CAWOOD in Eugene...check out this website for something special about her...she just won a pretty spectacular award, no surprise about any one of my "children!" Make sure you scroll down to the section with the heading, "20 Under 40 Awards." |

Gina worked for us in 2001. She is currently in her fifth year of teaching first grade at Crater Elementary in Newberg, Oregon and is also working on finishing up her masters of Education at George Fox. She just got married this past summer to Randy K. They were married in Aumsville, Oregon and went to Fiji and Disneyland for their honeymoon. "Life is great, just very busy and full." |
