Kathy & Fritz started building the campground in 1995. Since college days, owning a KOA campground was a retirement dream for the Gross family. But after spending more than 1000 hours on D-7 Cat time moving sand to build the campground, it fast became apparent this is a full time hobby. Kathy tells everyone "We probably won't be done building for the next ten years but we are still having fun and we love our campers! We especially love watching our young campers grow up before our very eyes. We miss them when their other lives gets in the way of their dune time!" 2007 marked their 10th official year of operation.

Fritz says "we enjoy seeing new faces arrive at the campground but we especially love seeing 'old friends' return over and over again. It makes it all worthwhile when they notice the new additions to the campground. Our philosophy is 'You may be tired and grumpy when you come in our front door because you just traveled 300 miles to get here and stayed up all night packing and the road was long and ...... BUT, if we can get you smiling and relaxing before you park, you are going to have a great vacation!!!"

Fritz is usually involved in a campground building project. In addition to adding new kabins and trying to get the new Big Boy sites underway, he is excited about the addition of the two new Kabooses!!!! You can also see him at ice cream social. During the summer he will be driving one of his antique tractors for the hay rides.

If Kathy is not in the office she is out burning up the sand on her 27 year old Arabian named Lena. When possible, she also is getting a 'Grandma fix' with their two granddaughters.
